Lisa Speer directs the International Oceans Program at the Natural Resources Defense Council, an environmental organization dedicated to protecting natural resources and public health with offices in the United States of America and China. Ms Speer conducts advocacy in a variety of international fora to promote integrated, ecosystem-based management of human activities on the high seas, with a particular focus on marine fisheries. She has served on US delegations to many high seas fisheries negotiations and has testified before Congress and the United Nations on a variety of high seas conservation and management topics.
