The Oxygen Project is an environmental media campaign tracking the biggest issue of our time – the changing planet. The Oxygen Project has a special interest in the ecosystems – namely forests and oceans – that produce our planet’s oxygen. Since the deep-sea accounts for 90% of the ocean and is the planet’s most significant carbon sink, it’s imperative that we protect it at all costs. Protection begins with awareness, and unfortunately, awareness around the detriments of deep-sea mining is limited. At The Oxygen Project, we use the power of social media to educate people, disseminate science, and ignite public support for the conservation of the deep sea. We aim to expose the political processes and true motives behind commercial deep seabed mining and advocate for a more transparent and precautionary approach to the planet’s final frontier.
