SpeSeas is a non-profit NGO comprised of Trinbagonian scientists, conservationists, and communicators making positive changes to the way the ocean is used and managed in Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and the world. SpeSeas uses science, education and advocacy to ensure a better understanding of marine ecosystems among all sectors. Our objectives are:
1. To undertake research on coastal and marine ecosystems that informs and guides management, aids in understanding the relevant human impacts, and directs the development of innovative solutions.
2. To improve stakeholders’ understanding of their relationships with coastal and marine ecosystems.
3. To advocate for integrated management, effective governance, and stewardship of coastal and marine ecosystems and the resources they provide to all sectors of society.
