As a registered non-profit organisation, Sharklife addresses the alarming exploitation of both shark populations and ocean fisheries in South African waters. We actively engage the urgent need for research and protection of many marine species. Through scientific research, education and awareness-building, Sharklife aims to:
• Alter public misconceptions about sharks and replace the “Jaws” syndrome with positive understanding.
• Bring the plight of the worlds oceans to people’s attention and encourage sustainable seafood choices.
• Develop and facilitate educational ocean experiences for interested parties.
