Seas at Risk

Seas At Risk is an independent non-governmental federation of national and international environmental organisations concerned with the protection and restoration of the marine environment, specifically the waters of the North and Irish Seas and the wider North East Atlantic.

Its participant organisations are primarily nationally based, although some are international groups, and it acts principally as a technical and political platform for environment group intervention at international political and legal meetings of government.

Seas At Risk is currently campaigning to effect international political change on issues as diverse as overfishing and fishing-related damage to the marine environment, pollution from shipping, the harmful effects of offshore oil & gas exploration and exploitation, species & habitat protection, and the introduction of hazardous substances into the marine environment.
