Created in 2006, Sciaena is a nonprofit entity with legal personality, with national and international scope. It aims to design, implement and support programs and projects of environmental, social, civic, economic and cultural nature, in order to promote cooperation and integrated human development on coastal areas and the conservation of marine ecosystems. Sciaena has developed its work in partnership with various social actors – other NGOs, local authorities, educational and research institutions, among others, always inviting general society to take part in its activities.
