Liga para a Protecção da Natureza (League for the Protection of Nature) is a Portuguese non-profit non-governmental organization. It is the oldest environmental association from the Iberian Peninsula and was created in 1948 with the main aim of contributing to the conservation of nature, biodiversity and ecosystems. LPN aims to ensure the preservation of natural resources, which are the basis of sustainability, and to conserve Portuguese natural heritage for future generations. LPN’s main activities are environmental education and training, direct intervention in environmental issues, and the development and implementation of conservation and research projects.
