Save our oceans from deep sea mining

After plundering and poisoning our land, mining magnates are embarking on a deep sea gold rush. The body in charge of issuing licenses just launched a public consultation — let’s tell it the world wants to save our oceans, and the amazing animals that live there.

Ploughing up the ocean floor with vast machines and pumping slurry to the surface would create vast plumes of sediment, clogging fish valves, and threatening deep water species not yet known to science.

It’s a race against the clock — the International Seabed Authority has already awarded contracts to companies planning to dig for gold, copper, manganese and other minerals across an area the size of Mexico.
