The Malpelo and other Marine Ecosystems Foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit organization, created with the purpose of preserving Colombian biological diversity, the conservation of the natural resources and their sustainable use with an emphasis on the marine and coastal environment. The Malpelo Foundation also carries out and supports research and scientific studies. The work is based on the mutual collaboration between researchers and the community, with the aim of achieving the elaboration of guidelines for sustainable development in accordance with the marine resources.
